Boston Celtics (41-9) at Denver Nuggets (32-20), 9 p.m.

The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets both return from the All-Star break, as they battle tonight at the Pepsi Center.

This is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the squads. On November 7th, Kevin Garnett scored 23 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Celtics over the Nuggets, 119-93, at TD Banknorth Garden.

Boston has won three of the last four contests in the series. The Celtics, though, have lost three straight and four of their last five at Denver.

The Celtics open a five-game road trip against Denver on Tuesday. They won five in a row and seven of eight games prior to the break. Garnett missed the team's last nine contests with an abdominal strain and is questionable for tonight's contest. Garnett was voted to be a starter in this year's All-Star Game, but did not play for the East because of the injury.

Rob Zaleski: UW team aims to aid New Orleans bayou

Kate Tillery Danzer had been bracing for the worst.

She had seen TV footage in August 2005 of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. She read numerous accounts of the horrifying aftermath and the shockingly inept response of FEMA and other government agencies.

And she had talked to her colleagues on the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Water Resources Management team who'd already begun work on a project to determine the feasibility of restoring Bayou Bienvenue, a cypress swamp next to the poor Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans, which had been particularly hard hit.

But when the 33-year-old UW grad student was given a tour of the neighborhood upon arriving in New Orleans last June -- nearly two years after the worst natural disaster in U.S. history -- she was shaken to the core.

Rangers Notebook: The Ian Kinsler Show

The Rangers probably didn't want to go above $20 million. The Kinsler camp probably wanted a guarantee closer to the $27 million that Brandon Phillips got from Cincinnati for four years. In the end, though, they reached a compromise that represents neither a "win" for Daniels/Levine or for Franklin.

What it does represent is a win for Kinsler and for partnership. Being willing to work as a legitimate partner will help the Rangers in negotiations with free agents more than any recruiting pitches or video presentations.

And for Ian, the degree of financial security offered to his family by that freshly minted contract extension appears to be just right:

"I was not trying to set the bar and make the most money for a second baseman. I'm just here to play the game and be treated fairly.
