| Astronaut to throw boomerang in space
Astronaut Takao Doi, 53, is set to travel on a US shuttle in March to the International Space Station, where he will be in charge of construction of a Japanese scientific testing room. It is believed gravity is needed for a boomerang to fly back to the throwing spot, but no one has tried in zero gravity. "Mr Doi said he will personally carry a paper boomerang for the upcoming mission and we presume he will try it when he has spare time,'' said an official of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. Doi reportedly decided on boomerang tests after he received a request from Yasuhiro Togai, a world boomerang champion from the western Japanese metropolis of Osaka. Doi later underwent training from the world champion on how to throw it, media reports said.

Democrats are making noises about a possible repeal of the October hike in the local income tax before they lose the majority on the City County Council in January. Would that be viewed as vindictive politics, or the right thing to do in response to Tuesday's vote? How could Republicans vote against it? Would the Mayor sign it? How about the next Mayor? Will Republicans do their own repeal in January, if the Democrats don't? If there's a repeal can Republicans cut enough spending to make up the gap, or will we see a return to overcrowded jails? This is going to be interesting. November 7, 2007 2:35 pm You may have noticed I missed a prediction. Most years I would settle for 5 out of 6, but I could have done better this time.

SEO for President
Yet a stroll through the sites of major candidates and minor players on both sides of the aisle is not a showcase of shrewd SEO tactics that are built to attract these searchers in droves, to say the least. Neither are these sites that are just one or two advanced tactics away from pushing their traffic into overdrive. Not in the slightest. Holes this big would sink normal sites and create e-commerce job openings by the dozens. Right and left (literally), these are sites that are not taking advantage of simple on-site SEO practices. They are not search-friendly and in some cases are barely indexable, but are saved only by large numbers of inbound links. The Range Online Media SEO team completed an audit of the political candidates' sites, and I've done my best to detail the improvements needed for each major campaign throughout the article.
